Oscar Season is Over - And So is This Blog

I didn't really know how to appropriately title this post so I just went for the plain and simple truth. I was going to spend this post writing about the Oscars but considering I couldn't rustle up that many readers for my predictions, why bother with a whole lot of other stuff that other people will already be writing about which means I'd get cancelled out? Pardon me for my bitter tone, but this is pretty much the reason why I have to stop blogging so I can focus my energies on something that will be appreciated.

Anyway, as for the Oscars: pretty exciting. Apart from the Jennifer Lawrence win. That just dragged down everything. Don't get me wrong, I love her. I liked her in Silver Linings Playbook. But you can't tell me that's the best female performance of the year. Honestly. It is so weird that she's an Oscar winner now. I was so happy that Christoph Waltz won, though, that I actually cried in front of my class mates. I adore him. That made my year.

What also made my year was Jessica Chastain's dress. It wasn't as amazing as last year's dress but she looked like a total angel. Plus, Amy Adams looked like a total angel too. Must be the red hair that makes people instantly perfect.

Seeing Jean Dujardin again was nice, too. I can't believe it has been a whole year since then, I swear I'm still in 2011 mode.

This Oscars has made me a little sad, though, since this will be the last one where I'll be writing away about it and running home from school to watch it and stuff like that. It is just the little things that make this day special. Hopefully, though, next year I'll be celebrating a Chastain win (for The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby) or maybe even Leonardo DiCaprio being recognised. I can dream.

For now, I'm shutting up shop here. Sorry to anyone who has commented in the past week - I literally have not had any time to reply and everything's a bit irrelevant now, isn't it? Alas, I've said plenty of thank you's in the past and I honestly can't repeat them enough. I'm really thankful of anyone who has taken the time to read the blog and comment and stuff. I am looking forward to having some free nights with lots of sleep and a few more movies in my life. Maybe I'll be back here again. Just keep an eye out in your feed.

If not, hopefully you'll see me at the Oscars in 20 years time.

  1. See you at the Oscars in 20 years time Stevee. You've got your priorities in the right place.
It's been a pleasure to know you and don't be a stranger. Pop in once in a while for a cup of coffee or toss me a mail.

    *hugs*

Do your best at school this year Stevee - I've been through it all before (twice, if you can't graduating uni as well), and I can only tell you to study regularly, with breaks, sleep well, eat well and if you ever want to talk about ANYTHING feel free to email/message me, okay? xx Love you lots!

  6. Makes me very sad to read this, but better stop before it's too late - focussing on your studies is most important.
Actually you're kinda inspiring me to stop blogging soon too, because it'll be my last year of high school.
Anyway, hope you'll be around some time again.

  8. I've been following your blog for a year now and I have to say I was impressed that a 16-year old girl can have this amount of profound perception and appreciation of art. I'm really bummed to read this. I wish you the best.

  16. It's sad to have you leave Stevee, but I wish you all the luck in whatever you do. Yeah it is kind of weird to say that Jennifer Lawrence is an Oscar winner, but she deserved that award. I hope to see more posts from you in the future.

Being in school while running this blog is impressive, but you'll only be in school once, go enjoy it.

  19. You're one of the good ones, girl! Don't stop for too long because I think you're really talented at this, and you have a true passion. But I totally understand your decision - sometimes it hurts to work so hard at something and feel like no one gives a crap.
