The trailers for Sweden's Millenium trilogy are all extremely shitty, basically using the same scenes in a different way. I don't know what is worse, though: the fact that the characters don't talk so there's no subtitles or that creepy American trailer guy explaining everything to us. Seems a little lazy.
What the hell is this trailer? I sadly haven't yet seen The Skin I Live In but I know that this trailer is one of the most awful things ever.
It has a bit of talking, but not that much compared to the erratic cutting that makes this movie seem more exciting than it actually is. Let's not forget that this movie is 150 minutes of Javier Bardem dying, which isn't the most fun thing to watch.
Reasons this ain't no Twilight: they say more than three sentences in that trailer.
This starts out as The Skin I Live In then it descends into full scale Dragon Tattoo madness. Which is ironic because it is from the producers of that particular series.
In conclusion: Hollywood knows that foreign films are pretty good so they purposely stuff up the trailers for them. They bring out the big guns of Lame Trailer Cliches to do that: creepy trailer voice guy, the same drum music playing while we see some erratic editing, and title cards telling us everything that is going on. Long story short: foreign film trailers are the worst things ever.
