I just finished watching The Dilemma, just my second 2011 release, and now I'm watching the low-budget sci-fi Monsters, which I've been looking forward to for quite a while. I was planning to watch The Tourist and maybe catch a rewatch of Tangled tonight, but Sony had a delay in posting their new DVDs and they won't be arriving until tomorrow, so I've missed them. I'll probably catch up on The Tourist some time in the future.

Anyway, as I try not to fall asleep and try and keep my sugar levels at an adequate state by sucking on Spearmint lollies, you can read these fantastic posts:

The 'A Life in Movies' blogathon went quite well...make sure you check out all the posts which can be found at the memes originator, the Fandango Groovers Movie Blog.

There's a lot of excitement over silent films to be had at Jack L. Film Reviews. He reviews one of my favourite horrors, Nosferatu.

Andy from Andy Buckle's Film Emporium continues to entertain me with his great reviews, reviewing a silent film called The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. I really want to see this movie.

Yeah, Mothers Day has been and gone, but this little post by Rachel at [film] girl, interrupted made me laugh!

Lesya at Eternity of Dream does a good job of reminding of all the films I really want to see this year.

Film Intel quite liked Winter's Bone. It comes out on DVD here next week, I can't wait to watch it again!

The Ladies of the 90's Tournament over at Blog Cabins got a winner! I'm a bit disappointed in who won though.

Have a great week, everyone! I'm not sure if there'll be a post up tomorrow, as I'm going to see Source Code tomorrow night and I won't be back until late, but we'll see what happens!

  1. How was Monsters? I've been looking forward to watching that one too. It's a high priority on my rental list so should be coming soon :)

  2. Thanks for the link, too kind of you.

What did you think of Monsters? I was sincerely bored, watching it...

  3. Looking forward to what you have to say about Monsters.

At first, I really, really liked it, but I think it was me crying out to myself the fact that it was a real big letdown..

  4. Thanks for the linkage Stevee, very nice of you!

  5. Thanks for the link Stevee! You're the best :-)

  6. Aww, thanks for the link love Stevee!

By the way, I really enjoyed MONSTERS. It's a great thriller/sci-fi that, sadly, will probably go unnoticed.

  7. Emma - I thought Monsters was pretty good, considering how much it was made for and everything. I'll have a review up this weekend, so I'll expand more on that :)

Lesya - Tis okay, any time! I could see why you'd get bored, but I really liked the movie. Or I just fall in love with every tightly budgeted film I see!

Cherokee - Meh. I don't even know. One part of me says "This movie was really fantastic!" But another part of me says "It wasn't actually that great at all." I still don't know which one to go for.

Jack - You always link me, so I must return the favour!

    Andy - You're welcome!

Rachel - You're welcome too! That post made me laugh!
Yeah, Monsters will sadly go unnoticed. Tut tut.

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.
