Happy Birthday to the gorgeous Viven Leigh!

Very few of you will actually know this, but I absolutely adore Vivien Leigh, the late actress from Gone with the Wind and A Streetcar Named Desire (two of my absolute favourite films). Today, had she not died of tuberculosis in 1967, she would have been the grand old age of 97. I thought I would post this, since I used to be obsessed with her and all (in late 2008, I had read 5 biographies on her, and also wrote a short biography of her myself). For the sake of it, I'll post a few of my favourite pictures of her. Happy Birthday, Vivling!

  1. I adore her as well. 'Gone with the Wind' is my favorite film of all time, it's time-resistant. Vivien was a great British thespian. She was irresistible in all her dramatic parts: 'Waterloo Bridge', 'That Hamilton Woman', 'Anna Karenina'. Probably, the most difficult film to watch is 'A Streetcar Named Desire' but it's definitely the classicak must-see. I also loved her in nit a typicl for Leigh role in 'Caesar and Cleopatra'. Have you seen it? It's quite an amuzing and fun comedy, where Cleopatra is presented not as a witty alluring head of Egypt but as a funny scared girlie.

  2. I have seen Caesar and Cleopatra. I thought it was quite good, but I would have preferred to see her perform it on the stage. Anything she was in was amazing, she made sure of it.

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.
