Week #4 in summary...! Miley Cyrus isn't my favourite person at the moment...

This has been a mixed bag week with no particular stand outs. But there was one film which kinda stood out...in a bad way. Find out which one it was, and the other films I watched this week, here:

  • Sex and the City: The Movie (2008) The big screen version of the small screen phenomenon. And the Godmother of Chick Flicks. This is a film for the ladies. Stay tune for the review of the second film (did. we. really. need. one?) in the future. 6/10

  • Green Zone (2010) One of my rare unreviewable movies...I can't say I was captivated by this guns ablazing Iraq tale starring Matt Damon. 4/10

  • Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) The most charming family film, just not as magical as the first installment. But oh, the loveliness of Maggie Gyllenhaal. 6/10

  • The Last Song (2010) One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Mainly because it has two of my most hated things in there: Miley Cyrus and it's a Nicholas Sparks adaption. If Greg Kinnear wasn't in there I probably wouldn't have survived. 2/10

  • The Bounty Hunter (2010) Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler...actors on a downward spiral. They seemed to prove that in this movie there is no way they are going to reach the top ever again. 4/10

  • Inglourious Basterds (2009) Probably the only truely great movie I have watched all week. And that was a rewatch. I forgot how much I loved Quentin Tarantino as I have been distracted by Christopher Nolan. 10/10

  • The Notebook (2004) The most romantic of all movies. I don't particularly like romantic movies. This is my first and probably only conversational review, too...

I know what the worst movie is...The Last Song. However, I'd say Inglourious Basterds is my best movie of the week, but if we weren't talking rewatches, then it would have to be Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.

Highlight of the week: Figuring out what I was going to do for my birthday...go see Inception again! And also waitressing (or eating all the food) at the local Ladies Night.

Lowlight of the week: School. Over it.

This is what happens when you take The Notebook too literally.

Couldn't figure out what to watch last night, so decided since it was the only thing on TV, I would watch The Notebook. It wasn't completely my idea. My friend said if I watched it he would too. So we talked on MSN during the course of the movie. Here are some snippets of our conversation:
(Editors note: we are taking this movie way too 'literally' in the sense that everything said in this movie, we take the piss out of.)

10:37:40 p.m. Kieran and we both survived it yay

There you have it...a conversation about The Notebook. I have seen it before, and I lauded it with 8/10. However, on a second watch, it is way too romantic even for my standards. But the end gets me every time. I don't absolutely hate it though...it just isn't one of my favourites. And I really don't like Nicholas Sparks, so I guess that doesn't help.
