The Tooth Fairy

"You can't handle the tooth." That tagline is bad enough, but really, it should have been "You can't handle the Tooth Fairy." This is yet another reason why Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson should have stuck to doing whatever it was that he was doing. Anything that is not making kids movies. There are only so many times that you can see him playing a mean guy who really is a huge child.
Excuse me while, I, um, barf. A tough ice hockey player Derek (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson) 'murders the dreams of little kids' and has to serve an unusual sentence: being a real-life tooth fairy for two weeks. Derek must forget his tough guy image and find out what's really important in his life in order to finish his sentence.
If you haven't seen this, you are probably thinking 'why?!' In fact, the only people that won't be thinking that are children under ten years of age. Because, in all honesty, with a storyline like that, there is no way that it could have worked. And I'm not just saying this from an uptight movie reviewers point of view. I'm saying this as a regular viewer. Sure, it is easy viewing, but there is a fine line between entertainment and stupidity. This movie crossed that line in the opening minutes.
It really makes me wonder what Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is trying to do. To people who find him funny, I say good on you, because I really don't see his appeal. Did he not learn from The Game Plan? He drags this movie down with his lacklustre and unoriginal 'comedic' performance, it's like he's not even trying. Good points? Those cool magic things like shrinking paste and amnesia dust.
Adults, leave your kids to watch this, it's one movie you don't wanna stick around for.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

Stevee's key tip to surviving Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (2009) if you are over twelve years old: put yourself in the mind-set of a six year old and you will enjoy it! As soon as you go back to being yourself, then you might not enjoy it so much. You might think it is a little...silly.
Alvin and the Chipmunks are a superstar group of singing chipmunks, who are the hottest group on the market. However, they start high school (yes, chipmunks at High School) to try and get even more famous. Their world is turned upside down when a group of female singing chipmunks, called 'The Chipettes', come to their high school, and are set to battle them to the top of super-singing-stardom.
As I said at the start of the review, anybody with under twelve years old will enjoy this. So I am not going to take a very critical view on this movie, but I will say the thngs that are good about it: it is pretty fun, really cute and makes you quite happy. Now I will say the one major downfall: it's heavy reliance on slapstick comedy. There is only so much falling over and getting beaten around one person can take!
To give this film a rating is near impossible, but if I were a lot younger than I am, I'd rate it 8/10.
But because I couldn't really handle 88 minutes of reeeeeeeeeally high chipmunk voices berating my ears, I'll have to give it a 4/10.
It's still really entertaining though!

Aliens in the Attic

I honestly didn't think I would watch this movie. I mean, come on, it's a kids movie, and has some of the most annoying stars in it. But anyone, I watched it and I was pleasantly surprised. This was a pretty cool movie for kids...not so much for older people. Just think like a kid and you'll get through this movie.
The Pearson family decide to go away for a weeks vacation out in the country somewhere. They arive at a huge mansion and everything seems finee. Until they're invaded-by aliens. These aliens are out to get them, and they can control what the humans say and do...as long as they're not a kid. The kids try to stop their parents frrom getting targeted by the aliens, but will it be too late?
Okay, so on paper this movie is pretty corny, very kiddish and lame. Yes it is. But if you're a kid and you're watching this you're probably gonna enjoy this. I mean, I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it at all. Aliens in the Attic is not the best kids movie, but it is much better than some of the Disney crap coming out these days.
What I'm trying to say is, if you're a kid, you will absolutely marvel at this movie. If you're my age you'll think it's lame but cute at the same time. If you're an adult you'll probably want to be doing something else with your time. All round, a fun movie to watch.
